This standard identifies the levels of professional performance required for public fire and life safety educators, public information officers, and juvenile firesetter intervention specialists. It specifically identifies the job performance requirements (JPRs) necessary to perform as a public fire and life safety educator, a public information officer, and a juvenile firesetter intervention specialist.
 
Make sure fire and life safety educators are qualified with NFPA 1035.
Rely on NFPA 1035 Standard for Professional Qualifications for Fire and Life Safety Educator, Public Information Officer, and Juvenile Firesetter Intervention Specialist for clear and concise job performance requirements that can be used to determine whether an individual possesses the skills and knowledge to perform as a public or private fire and life safety educator.
This Standard specifically covers the requirements for Fire and Life Safety Educator Levels I, II, and III; Public Information Officer; and Juvenile Firesetter Intervention Specialist Levels I and II.

·   New skills maintenance requirement
